We would like to wish everyone who follows Isaac happy holidays! We had a beautiful Christmas, the kids loved opening gifts – Isaac’s greatest gift to us was staying away from hospitals 🙂
Well, he didn’t really stay away, he paid a friendly visit to his first hospital home – Fairfax Hospital, as we have decided (along with another family) to begin a tradition of leaving treats for families visiting sweet babes in the NICU each year. This was our first year, Isaac got to see some of the ladies from the front desk that used to come back and visit him in his room (he was a ladies man even then!) and he got to see the two NICU doctors who helped care for him – I’m pretty sure neither had seen him since they sent him off to Minnesota.
To say they were thrilled with his progress would be an understatement! They loved watching him run around, while they grilled us about his life since leaving them. It was so much fun to let them see how much he can do and how very far he has come.
Isaac has spent many holidays in the hospital, and seems to start getting sick on holidays more and more. This year he has a bit of an ick, but nothing substantial so far, hoping it passes quikly. In a situation like ours, hospital stays are so normal, you find yourself listening to him for the signs, this can be quite exhausting. In spite of his “ick” Isaac had a wonderful day, he was surrounded by love and family and enjoyed every minute of his day.
