Merry (late) Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas

Early last week, this happened. Santa showed up at our door and came in to see the kids. To say it was amazing would be an understatement! We’ve learned when it comes to Isaac to squeeze the fun in when we can, because we never know when he will crash and burn.
We got lucky, Grandpa Joe had a Santa hook up and was able to make it happen. The kids told him everything they wanted for Christmas, and he even read them a book!
Christmas was wonderful, the kids had a blast and we enjoyed their joy 🙂
Unfortunately, the day after Christmas Isaac started going down hill. He has had a fever and cough all weekend, he’s pretty miserable when the meds wear off. We determined yesterday that his feeding tube has another leak, so the food that should be going to his intestines was instead filling his stomach and probably refluxing into his lungs.
We have since started thickening the formula in an attempt to keep his formula out of his lungs. Tomorrow he will get a new feeding tube inserted. We will also have them inject some dye into his esophagus to make sure he hasn’t gotten another hole in that. A hole in his esophagus will likely take us directly to Cincinnati at this point.
